This is my story about what it means to be a mother, a wife, a sister, and a friend and how special needs touch our lives. My journey begins with my daughter’s birth and medical challenges in the NICU.  Parenting a medically fragile infant was terrifying. I was reminded to “never underestimate the power of the mother.” With renewed faith, and the support of my family and friends, we all survived and learned to thrive.  We found profound healing with music, dance and the arts.

I wrote, sang and produced ‘The Power of the Mother Album’ to offer love, inspiration and fellowship to our unsung heroes and heroines- the parents, siblings, and caretakers of special needs children. The Healing With Music label shares my journey through poetry and music.  It is a journey of love, a journey of hope, and a journey of healing.

To honor the special needs athletes, I volunteered as an Honored Guest Host for the Special Olympics World Games held in Los Angeles July 25 through August 2, 2015.  This was one of the largest philanthropic event in the world to date!
